The 2014 Martin Popoff 16-page ebook about the making of the MC5 album, High Time.
MC5’s third and last record, 1971’s High Time found the band making a very different album from the first two, although the psychedelic gumbo of it all might be said to resemble Kick Out The Jams in songwriting essence. Fact is, High Time was an album of confused but arresting bloat, courting myriad directions as Detroit declined and the band imploded under the weight of drugs and politics and the death of hippie ideals. Come listen to the words of wisdoms disseminated by Wayne Kramer, Dennis Thompson, band manager John Sinclair and since deceased bassist Michael Davis who reveal where the MC5 got their jazz.
