The 2011 release from Timber Timbre.
"When Toronto singer/songwriter Taylor Kirk, who performs under the name Timber Timbre, topped Eye Weekly's cross-country critics poll in 2010 with his self-titled third album, it was the culmination of his ascent from relative obscurity to, well, name recognition at least, thanks to the re-release of Timber Timbre on Arts & Crafts (and the efforts of original label Out of This Spark). Since the current label and continuing accolades have brought the singer to an even wider audience, it's impressive that Kirk has followed up by out-weirding his unique sound with Creep On Creepin' On. Here, his talent for crafting haunting, down-tempo pop gems is paired with tangential instrumental breaks and avant-garde arrangements. What continues to make Timber Timbre such a compelling listen, however, is the underlying funkiness. The supple bass grooves that bounce along under Kirk's quirky lyrical insights give the whole enterprise a Tom Waits-ian gospel/doo-wop vibe. Timber Timbre is still odd, and oddly infectious." - Eye Weekly
