The 1998 release from Veda Hille.
A song cycle about the life of Canadian painter Emily Carr (1871-1945). Commissioned by Mascall Dance as the score for their choreography “The Brutal Telling”. All the lyrics on the record were taken (quite liberally) from Carr’s journals, letters, and published writings. Cover painting by Stephanie Aitken.
